What is the Alliance, you ask?
The Alliance is a project group intended to encourage visual and literary artists to work together. I've felt for some time that the dA Literature Community can at times be somewhat insular - to its detriment. We in the Lit Community are also sometimes prone to griping about the lack of exposure our work receives when compared to that of visual artists. So in the spirit of ^thorns brilliant Complaint Challenge I thought I would try to do something about that. And so the Alliance was born!
Because I, your founder, have a deep and abiding love for the seasons, this group now hosts seasonal contests, and as the Winter Contest is now over, it is time for Spring.

Single Stock ChallengeHello from the admins of #TheArtOfManipulation! It's time for a new Contest and this one is going to be BIG!

How it Will Work
For this contest, we are going to make things TOUGH. We will provide you with a list of stockers that you can choose from, however you only get to choose ONE stock artist and you must use all stock from that artist. And to make things even harder, you cannot use any human models, premade backgrounds, PNG cut-outs, or brushes (except the preset ones located in your software already). Also you MUST use a minimum of 3 stock images, there is no maximum

Dialectical Dessertism: The ContestIt has long been debated just how cake and pie came to be bitter enemies (and occassional allies against other desserts). Some say it started in the Middle Ages when butter was first used for both unequally awesome desserts.
While others say it was when cake became a CV and the power went to her head!
At still yet, there is the rumor that is started when pie failed his sobriety test and blamed it all on cake for keeping him out too late.
But maybe none of those are the real story. That's where YOU come in.
What's this Contest About?
It's pretty simple. You're going to answer a very simple question. What is the origin of the pie/cake debacle? How you go about doing that is completely up to you. But since you have complete creative freedom to write history, we're expecting some very interesting (to say the least) renditions.

OC Summer Fun in The Sun Contest! Cash Prizes!Time to get this second contest of the year started! The first one I held this year had a decent turn out, but I'm hoping even more people enter this one. What can I say, I enjoy seeing the drawings people come up with for my contests.
If you couldn't tell from the title this contest involves original characters and summer. This will be a "draw yours and my original character" type of contest in which you show the characters enjoying summer. Each entry must have at least one of my characters and one of your characters for it to be eligible. Your character can be a completely original one or an OC from a popular existing universe (pokemon, naruto, bleach, etc) as long as it is your own character. LTdAB Poetry Slam Submission Folder Open!We had a great time chatting with our participants, prize donors, judges and fellow writers yesterday. The month is approaching its end, and we have finally created and opened our contest folder for the poetry slam. Get those entries in as soon as you feel they are ready, but before the deadline at 11:59 PM CST May 31st, 2013. Here's a rundown of what all we expect an entry to have and be when submitted:

Entries must follow the theme of Self-Identity and must be work written for this contest.

The performance of the slam poem must be between 1-3 minutes. If it is longer or shorter we will ask you to modify the poem.

^{Okay, so I though about holding a little contest.
I have the characters names, their design that I haven't finished yet, and a little glimpse of what I want the story to be.

But, I need more plot, more awesomeness and love!

SO!!

I though it would be an awesome idea to hold a mini writing contest.

FIRST CATEGORY

Over 1000 words.
I doesn't need to be detailed. You just need to create a plot in a misterious, futuristic atage but keep the greek/grecian-like atmosphere.

My characters are elements gods, so you must incorporate them in some way in the story. They must be mentioned as T H E 'G O D S'. There's twelve of them, and each one rules over one important element. There's no need to mention each one of them or the elements in itself. the importance in the story is that THE MAIN GOD character was born as human, which is somethign that could NEVER happen. He was raized in a normal way for the time, and when he hit 16 he grew wings. From there things start to happen. The element GODS where waiting for the world ruler to ressurect, but once they discovered he was born as a human being, they were outraged. There's those that are against him and there are those that allied to him. The story happens in a futuristic style stage. Super comps, floating cars....things like that. But the GODS remains in a antique greek style, olimpos and such. I just have this for now. From here you need to create more facts, more plots.

But I need it by the end of February because I inted to have many pages done by march and start posting it then. Until then I'll work on the characters, scenarios and the sort.

Something like Nao, Adrien, Sen, Erin...Semething that can be put nicknames with chan or kun...Nao-CHAN, En-CHAN, Rin-KUN and so on.
